Our Story
From Car Rentals to Overland Adventures
We’re Chanrith and Jessica—lifelong Washingtonians with a passion for the great outdoors. In 2017, we built a thriving car rental business in Seattle. The fleet grew, bookings rolled in, and everything was on track—until 2020 hit like a wrecking ball.
The pandemic wiped out travel overnight. Reservations vanished, airports emptied, and our once-busy rental lot became a graveyard of idle cars. We held on as long as we could, but eventually, we had no choice—we shut down and sold off the fleet.
Well, almost all of it.
We held onto two Jeeps, and instead of selling them, we got an idea—what if we turned one into a rugged overland camper? We kitted it out with a built-in rooftop tent, awning, and all the gear needed for an off-grid adventure, then listed it on Outdoorsy.
The response was instant.
People weren’t just looking for cars—they wanted escape. They craved adventure, open roads, and nights under the stars. One Jeep became two. Two became four. By 2022, Seattle Overland was born, with a fleet of eight fully equipped Jeep campers ready to take explorers deep into the Pacific Northwest.
Then, something unexpected happened. Customers came back from their trips wanting rigs of their own. They asked about rooftop tents, truck setups, and the best way to build a true overland vehicle. We started guiding them, and before long, we saw an even bigger opportunity.
In 2025, we launched OVLD Campers, specializing in high-quality, durable, and affordable truck bed campers with built-in rooftop tents. Designed for adventurers who want a simple, functional, and rugged setup, our campers are built to handle the wild without breaking the bank.
What started as a car rental company had transformed into a movement. Now, whether you want to rent, buy, or build your perfect overland setup, we’re here to make it happen.
The road doesn’t end here. This is just the beginning.
